Each home is for 10 children (either all-boys or all-girls) and one loving "momma." The 24 x 22 foot houses are built with bricks and stucco -- with two bedrooms for the children, a room for the "momma," a bathing room, and a dining room. Currently, outdoor toilet facilities have been built -- which is a huge praise report!

The mothers cook behind the homes -- each in her own kitchen -- over a simple wood fire -- and the "mommas" visit and fellowship together during their cooking time. Each "family unit" enjoys their meals at their own home.

Before the children came to "Osanidde Village" most of them were sleeping on the ground, or on simple mats. Several of the children told us they used to sleep on "parafin" (black plastic) bags -- and some slept on the bare ground. But not any longer!

Now, these children each have their own wooden bed -- with a brand-new mattress, clean sheets, and a mosquito net (for protection against malaria).

Each child has a special stuffed animal, new clothes and two school uniforms, a clean personal towel, a toothbrush, and a special "trunk" to keep his or her personal belongings.

When the children first came to "Osanidde Village" some of the kids could hardly believe that they actually had a bed -- and some children were so excited they actually couldn't sleep for several days -- they just kept "staring" at their bed, and feeling the wooden frame. Yet now these children are feeling "at home" and sleeping soundly -- and they're even giving praise report testimonies that God is giving them "sweet" dreams!
