Helping the Needy

The need is great! Harvest Ministry and N.E.T.S. Minister Joseph Baluku clothed these village children in Uganda, mostly orphans, - with funds from a children's church in Hood River, Oregon, and several of these families came to Jesus Christ!!
Reaching THE LOST is our primary calling...

...but we don't forget ORPHANS, WIDOWS, those in PRISON, and the POOR!

"Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." JAMES 1:27

REACHING THE POOR

On every outreach, as the Lord leads, Harvest Ministry gives to the poor. Often, these gifts help some of the national workers on our local ministry teams, or they are designated to help a needy family purchase practical tools or equipment so they can support themselves and their families.

Over the years, Harvest Ministry has helped many poor children and orphans.HELPING WIDOWS

Through designated sponsorship, Harvest Ministry regularly supports a group of elderly widows in Uganda. These precious women of God live at their church, with simple mats as their only belongings. These widows intercede for the work of their church, the outreaches of Harvest Ministry, and for the world. It is an honor to help them in a simple way each month. But in reality, their faithful prayer support helps us far more.

HELPING ORPHANS
Due primarily to the terrible spread of AIDS, East Africa has so many orphans. Through the ministry of N.E.T.S. minister Naboth Tumuhairwe of Mbarara, Uganda, Harvest Ministry has been able to assist hundreds of these orphans...through helping support his orphanage school, building a water cistern, and providing gifts for the children. Also, through N.E.T.S. minister Drake Kanaabo and his wife, Josephine, many orphans and AIDS victims are being helped through evangelistic and benevolence ministry on remote islands in Lake Victoria. Through special gifts from American children, Harvest Ministry has also been able to provide clothing for children and orphans in very poor villages.

(Please note: 100% of any gift to Harvest Ministry designated for "orphans" or "widows" or "benevolence" is used exclusively for that purpose. Absolutely nothing is taken out for general ministry expenses or overhead needs.)

Jon Dunagan preaches in a Rwandan prison, to many inmates convicted of war crimes which took place during the terrible Rwandan genocide.

MINISTRY IN PRISONS
As the Lord has opened doors, Harvest Ministry regularly preaches in prisons -- often to hundreds or even thousands of prisoners, many who are on death row. It has been exciting to see the Lord move powerfully, in salvation and forgiveness.

The purpose of Harvest Ministry is to help fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to "Go into all the world to preach the Gospel." Harvest Ministry is passionate about winning souls, and is committed to going wherever the harvest is most ripe, and wherever the Lord directs... Primarily, this is accomplished through International Gospel Outreaches (especially in East Africa and other third-world countries), National Evangelism Team Support (N.E.T.S.), and encouraging other Christians to become actively involved in world evangelism.
